It's almost 9 o'clock do you know where the marine stratus is? As day turns to night we are able to use the Nighttime Microphysics scheme on the #Goes16 satellite. The areas in white represent the low clouds and fog. The marine layer is now in excess of 1200 feet and showing signs of deepening along the coast. The first fingers of fog are now poking into the redwood trees above Berkeley. Latest observation from the Golden Gate is a sustained west wind of 20 kt with Small Craft Advisory hoisted for San Francisco Bay. Can you feel the marine air in your neighborhood? ...

I can in La Honda.

Nope for Walnut Creek. It's nice and warm out here. 👍

I could not grill dinner because of the winds in Berkeley. I saw the puffy sweeping fog during a twilight walk up the dock. Drat, I should have taken a picture.

Yes in North Oakland

South san jose and not a cloud to be seen. Coolness in the air though.

Is there a link where we can check this realtime

Light high fog in SF

Thank you Carson Long from Roseville Boy Scout Troop 828! Not only did Carson build 15 wood duck boxes for our CLAWS (Chester, Lake Almanor, Westwood, Susanville) Wood Duck Project, he also fund raised the money for the materials, bought the materials and delivered them to the CWA office and a very happy Caroline Brady, CWA Waterfowl Programs Supervisor.

Due to harsh conditions and an abundance of red squirrels, the CLAWS Wood Duck Project needs more than your average plywood box. These boxes are made of cedar and will replace some very old and well-used boxes. The CLAWS project managers hope to have these boxes up this weekend and with any luck, maybe a late nesting hen or two in a few weeks! ...

The Lyrid Meteor Shower peaks tonight and tomorrow night. The shower will be located looking northeast, above the horizon, during the night/pre-dawn hours.

Skies are expected to be mostly clear this evening. There could be some fog/stratus developing along the Monterey Peninsula/Salinas Valley around or slightly after midnight both nights. The best locations to see the meteor shower will be inland or at higher elevations, away from city lights.

Thanks Marcy, planning to stay up late to watch.

Tengo que levantarme a las cuatro de la mañana para verlo. Love you Marcy.

No sighting in 10 mins. of watching, 4:30 am 4/22

Watched from 9:00 till 2:00 and saw zero meteors. 😕

Beach Day? 🏖️😎A few things to keep in mind: water is still cold with temps in the low 50s, rip currents are always possible and wear sunscreen. #cawx #casurf #beachsafety ...
