I saw Folsom yesterday at Beale's Point and it is Full....

We will always need to be aware of our water use as much of interior CA is semi-desert or very dry during the summer months, and we need a healthy reserve of water not just for our use, but for firefighting, but after years of drought, this is wonderful to see!

Well, Oroville Lake is under utilized, I wonder why... Maybe because it is not safe. We need that water storage. At least the others are full. I bet they sell all of Oroville's water and we will be in drought conditions regarding water use... Serious misuse of funds allocated for maintenance of this dam....Where is the money, why did Gov Brown seal all the records regarding the maintenance and failure of Oroville Dam. Just some questions to think about...

Our biggest reservoir is the snow pack and it isn't anywhere close to normal.

I would like to hear a public, scientific discussion of restoring the depleted groundwater in the Central Valley.

Why not build more dams for water storage, just a simple thought .

Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks

What does it take to rescue somebody from cold, swift, and dangerous water? Park staff spent three days training in swiftwater rescue procedures in Kings Canyon last week!

Remember, use caution around rivers - even if you don't intend to swim! Many river emergencies happen when visitors accidentally fall in to the water.

Thanks to Sierra Rescue for the training and the photos! ...

Why isn't kayaking allowed on the south fork of the kings river within the park?

I grew up camping in Kiings Canyoun Ntl Park. The Kings River is melted snow. It is so extremely cold and swift moving. A body will go numb quickly and can be swept awa.

Where are these pictures taken?... exactly

Some spate there Bill Ginn 😊

Just one day? When I took this training in Cedar Grove in 2009 it was three days long. That water was horribly cold and I used a 3/2mm surfing wetsuit. I had rhinitis the whole time. The only time it stopped was when I got back in the water. When I got out though, my nose just ran and ran and ran with sinus headache and sneezing, but I did not catch a cold or get sick in any other way, fortunately. I was nearly the oldest student in the group at 58.

Great pictures, thanks!

My Sister fell in the Kings River when she was quite small and Mom who didn't swim and didn't like being in the water jumped in up to her chest and grabbed her and brought her to safety. Many years ago.

All water may cause drowning! Don’t be stupid !

I'm a strong swimmer. I played water polo in high school and was a certified life guard in college. I've swam in icy High Sierra lakes since I was a kid without any problem. A few summers back I jumped into a Sierra lake from a boat, got cold-shocked, and wouldn't have been able to pull myself out if I hadn't had friends there to help me. I could barely even keep myself above water. Scared the hell out of me, and now I won't take any chances. If I'm on or in a lake or the river, I'm wearing a PFD. I know everyone says this, but I never would have thought it could happen to me.

Laws do not deter criminals. States and school districts need to step up and make our schools more secure. I have been in and out of several schools near my home recently and I am horrified at how easy it is to walk on and off these campuses.

Where did the number 23 come from?

School security can be so much better

Thanks, Eric
