Here's a little more rip current safety info. Some beaches are reporting waves up to 5 feet this morning, and rip currents are possible in many places. Learn how to spot a rip so you can avoid them! However, if you do get caught it's important to know how to get out of it. It's always good to swim at a beach with lifeguards, if you're not confident about your ability to spot and escape rip currents!
I have personally been caught in a rip next to a jetty - it's surprising how fast they move you! Swimming parallel to the beach works.

This message has been brought to you by NOAA’s National Weather Service, and the National Safe Boating Council. Southern California is not immune to tropical storms and hurricanes. In October 1858, a category 1 hurricane struck San Diego County. Damage was reported from San Diego north to the San Joaquin Valley and from Point Mugu to Needles. This storm caught many vessels in the Southern California Bight by surprise. Later in September 1939, a tropical storm struck southern Los Angeles County causing inflation adjusted damages near 2 million dollars. This storm also caught many vessels in the Southern California Bight by surprise.

Boaters: Be prepared for hurricane season. Don't wait until a hurricane warning to secure your boat. By the time a hurricane warning is issued, it's too late to be working on a dock safely. Listen to weather forecasts and plan ahead. Haul out your boat or add additional lines during a hurricane or tropical storm watch, which is issued before a warning, 48-hours before the anticipated onset of storm winds. ...

Thunderstorms can be a mariner's worst nightmare. They can develop quickly and create dangerous wind and wave conditions. Thunderstorms can bring shifting and gusty winds, dangerous lightning, waterspouts, and torrential downpours which can turn a day's pleasure into a nightmare of distress. There are no specific warnings or advisories for lightning but all thunderstorms produce lightning. A lightning strike to a vessel can be catastrophic, especially if it results in a fire or loss of electronics. If your boat has a cabin, then stay inside and avoid touching metal or electrical devices. If your boat doesn't have a cabin, stay as low as you can in the boat. Boaters should use extra caution when thunderstorm conditions exist and have a plan of escape. Mariners are especially vulnerable as at times they may be unable to reach port quickly. It is therefore strongly recommended you do not venture out if thunderstorms are a possibility. If you do venture out and recognize thunderstorms nearby, head to port or safe shelter as quickly as possible. Ultimately, boating safety begins ashore with planning and training. Keep in mind that thunderstorms are usually brief so waiting it out is better than riding it out. Voted for John Cox! I got many notices in the mail from republicans saying he's pro everything evil. So crazy! I'm glad I went to the Pro Life website to vote! They have all the candidates who are pro life.

Does Cox recognize that vaccines are made with aborted fetal tissue? Does he recognize what kind of neurological damage that evil is causing when injecting an aborted baby's DNA isn't our children?

Does he stand with pro life Christians who wish to refrain from that activity and still be able to attend a faith based private school? I know Allen does but Cox has been silent on this issue that is VITAL to our children's health and education.

THAT is what is splitting the votes. If Cox wants Allen's votes, he's going to have to repeal SB277 and stand for children and parental rights / medical freedom.

Someone have the nerve to text about Gavin today. I told him to remove me from his list and I would. NO way be voting for Gavin! Then I blocked him.

Me too Cox is marked on my ballot

We must vote for life! This is the most important cause in heaven!

Already mailed in my vote 4 John Cox
