I have yet to see one! I hope someday to.

Go to Pinnacles National Park, we saw lots of them circling overhead as we enjoyed dinner in our campsite!

great !!

I believe the biggest threat to California Condors are Black Vultures and Turkey vultures. They are more economical scavengers and the Condors can't compete. Somehow the Vultures don't seem to be affected as much by lead. I guess they aren't politically correct.

Introducing Harlow (4363), rescued from the West Valley shelter, a 10 year old dachshund/x. Frankly, we are not sure what her heritage is. Maybe part Chihuahua, or maybe a little Pomeranian mixed in for good measure? Whatever she is she is tiny and adorable. Harlow is very long and very short with a lush blonde coat from head to tail. Her pink nose and baby blues are mesmerizing.

Harlow actually came to us on March 24th. She spent the past month (and $1300) at the vet first getting over Kennel Cough that escalated into pneumonia. We almost lost her. Then when she was well enough, a spay, and a dental that took most of her teeth. It took a long time for her to recover enough to come home today.

The first thing we did was brush out all the mats and tangles in her fur, then trimmed her feet (they had hard mats between her pads - like walking around with a pebbles in your shoe - ouch!), then a nice warm oatmeal bath followed by coconut cream rinse. A blow dry, and voila! She is gorgeous like her namesake, Jean Harlow.

This cutie-patootie will be at the O.C. Pet Expo if you would like to meet her. She is available for adoption. Contact <[email protected]> and complete our online application at <http://scdr.org/adoption-application/>. ...

She is so cute!

Just darling. I have used the Wisdom DNA Panel on my little rescue. It was fun finding out what she was, even though she was 0% doxie, LOL.

Eureka! I got it - She's a dachshund & Tibetan Spaniel. This is a Tibetan Spaniel.

So pretty!

Today was Brownie's lucky day, she just doesn't know it yet. Brownie (4375) was adopted today. Brownie, an 8 year old, standard (26 lbs.) girl came to SCDR in early April after the toddler in her former home succeeded in injuring Brownie's back, not once, but twice, resulting in 2 episodes of steroids, pain meds, and weeks of crate rest.

For her safety the family asked us to find her a home that was better for her. Today, Brownie met her new mom and dad. Linda and Kenny applied for several of our dogs over the past few weeks, but each time they were just a little too late. The dogs were already committed to other families. We notified them when Brownie arrived in rescue, and they jumped at the chance to adopt her.

Brownie was less than her usual friendly self at first. Normally, she is an "alpha" personality, pushing to the front of the line for treats and attention. Today, she was stand-offish and cautious. Who were these people? And why are they here? It took a handful of Charlie Bears (little treats) to win Miss Brownie over. But once she decided she liked Linda and Kenny, she was all kissy-kissy. Apparently, she wanted time to size them up and then decide if they were acceptable to her.

Here is Brownie celebrating her new family. Please join us in wishing Linda and Kenny a long and happy life with Brownie. ...

Sometimes a Peregrine will go after a Raven or a Crow. The photographer who took this cool image said this was a raven, but we're thinking maybe a crow. Either way, the black bird is having none of this. (Great photo by Nick Chill) ...

I have seen crows mob the hawks at my ranch...

Yea all I ever see is crows picking on hawks, so I yell at them. This doesn't help but it makes me look like a nut so I persist!

I am thankful that the crows convinced the hawk family to move from my tree. I have a little dog. More crows this year than last is a good thing. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

I can observe a nesting red shoulder pair , the crows tend to ignore them

Go crow!

Rounded fan tail says raven to me

Raven beak comes out of head more

The little guy prevailed.

I think it's a crow also Ravens are bigger.

Crows suck. Just sayin'....

I have seen the ravens chase & attack even the eagles away from their nests. this dual continues just about every day if look up in the sky. ravens are the smartest birds around, can mimmick human sounds like a parrot in captivity.

Crows have a crescent. Wavens have a wedge.

It has the shaggy beard of a raven

Could be immature raven

i see scenes like this quite often here in the South Bay.
