It's Sunday Night but many people will have off for Memorial Day. If you have outdoor plans it looks to be one of the hottest days so far this spring with many inland locations warming into the lower 90s. At the NWS we care about safety so please hydrate and be wary of heat illnesses if spending prolonged amounts of time outside. If you visit the beaches be aware of the cold ocean temperatures (currently around 55) that can quickly cause hypothermia. Remember rip currents and other hazards are always present. Avoid the grip of the rip! ...

As temperatures rise today and tomorrow, please never leave kids or pets in a vehicle. Many inland areas are currently in the 80s, and some will breach 90 tomorrow afternoon.

The goal of the event is to show folks from the Capitol that firearms can be used in a safe, responsible and fun manner, and that even recreational shooting supports conservation.
