Tahoe gets another big snow dump, some resorts extending season

Sunday was slated to be the last day slopes were open at many Tahoe ski resorts, but a cold spring storm dumped more snow overnight and a few places are planning to stay open.

Boreal Mountain announced Monday: "With over 16 feet of snow in March, we're extending our season out to April 22." Mount Rose says it's staying open until April 29.

A mail mystery! A SF woman receives strange packages from countries all over the world. The reason companies might be sending them at 11p!

"I found these three packages that have my name and my cell phone number on them and they're items that I never ordered or looked at in my life." Here's why unwanted packages are more than just a pain to residents: https://t.co/1OVH0KNIco.

Nicely done Cody Bellinger.... just hit the ball and get a run in. Dodgers take the lead 2-1 in the 8th.

"Seeing his personality come to life and seeing that, you could see his good heart in the way he spoke and seeing that definitely changed my opinion of him a little bit." Many with mixed feelings left Comey's SF event with a different opinion of him.

Crooks often steal license plates and install them on cars they use in crimes. Hundreds of plates are stolen each month in San Diego alone, but there's a cheap, easy way to make it harder for them to take it off.

Another derterant from thief stealing your registration sticker off your plated is to take a razor and slice the sticker diagonally making it harder to peal the sticker off.

I had mine stolen within a month of moving back home. Reported it to the police & went to the dmv as soon as I could. Still upset I had to pay for something that was stolen, but oh well. They had also decided to take my plate frame w/them. I replaced my frame exactly w/what was stolen as an f u to them & got better bolts/screws

I went to Home Depot and picked up some security screws..

A skyline is so simple, but conveys so much meaning. Just a line, dividing the observable world in half; separating the earth and everything connected to it from the infinite sky.

City skylines are often immediately recognizable to the denizens of a city or region. Yosemite Valley's skyline may be even more globally recognizable; flanked by El Capitan and the Cathedral rocks and punctuated by the universal silhouette of Half Dome, central and steadfast.

What does Yosemites skyline evoke in you?

I got this shot last weekend just as the skyline was broken by the sunrise. It was worth waiting in the freezing cold and the drive through the night to witness it.

This is my skyline photo 😎

beautiful

Love shooting images of the valley during a full moon

Ashish Pandya that sunrise tho

Seeing this picture of 'Yosemite's Skyline' brings back all of the memorable nights with my family sitting in the middle of the meadow out on the boardwalk near Curry Village. What a beautiful sight, surrounded by dark shadows of the huge granite walls, and the bright starry night up above us. 😍

Yosemite's skyline makes me wonder at the beauty of the earth - and the strong impression that El Capitan gives makes me feel that same strength in my own being and in my own life. Can't wait to visit and see this for myself one day!

Such beautiful words for a beautiful place.

Love yosemite

It evokes friendship and tranquility. My Yosemite skyline photo from a couple of years ago

There is also peace in darkness

Such beautiful words for a beautiful place.

Perfect description.

{BEVERLY HILLS FIBER} Fiber transfers more data, more reliably, more quickly, more securely, more efficiently and over longer distances than copper. ...

Focus.

Ears erect, muscles still, the coyote waits, one paw raised, in the brisk morning air. She has heard something — the sound of a blade of grass rubbing against another — and is completely invested in what little morsel of an animal may have produced it.

She takes a cautious step forwards, ears swiveling like satellite receivers, and then stops again. She tenses her body for a moment. The air is quiet.

With one swift motion, she expels all of the energy from her hind legs and vaults herself silently into the air, making a graceful arc before striking the ground firmly with both front paws and burying her nose in the grass...!

No vole yet. Her stomach growls.
She continues her search. ...

Hi! I'm from Argentina. I need información about the routes to Yosemite Valley. Is posible go from San Francisco? What is the route more accessible? I hope your answer.

Ya, beautiful till it carts off with your “fluffy” cat or dog.

My German Shepherd does the same thing but cocks her head and listens before digging.

Whomever is managing the facebook does an amazing job. I lived in El Portal and Crane Flat about 15 years ago. I love Yosemite! I love that I get to stay connected through this venue. Thank you for the amazing photos and posts.

Reminds me of what my dog does sometimes

We observed a pair of coyotes up in Tuolumne Meadows last year, hunting a small ground animal. They were the largest coyotes I have ever seen. Some other hikers even thought they were wolves.I know there are no wolves in Yosemite. These were very healthy specimens with beautiful thick coats. They worked as a team, and very skillfully got their prey and trotted off together to enjoy their dinner.

Reading the caption I can hear it being narrated by the legendary Sir David Attenborough in my head! What an excellent capture too!

Who writes this stuff? Good job, love it! Thank you

Great Capture With An Awesome Narrated Theme💚

I remember camping at the base of Clouds Rest and hearing the packs of coyote howling together as tha sun was setting. Such an awesome experience!

Amazing picture! The coyotes in Yosemite are beautiful. I live in the desert. Big difference

My favorite of all animals! So beautiful, sly and adaptable. When they pass by my desert dining table window at breakfast, I say, "Hello, my friend!"

My yellow lab/shepherd mix, Maggie would do this exact dance with her food, every day. I wish I had this on video as I haven't seen this before or since with any dog. She was 50 lbs and a little unusual looking. I always wondered if there was a little coyote, she had a long narrow snout, and a terrific prey instinct. She was a love to those of us on 2 feet, but not very tolerant of 4 legged creatures. She tried to bite a Buffalo in the nose once, under a fence rail. Luckily she was leashed! I miss her very much.

They sure are fun to watch! And so much prettier fur coats and not scrawny as in coyotes I've observed elsewhere. Thanks coyotes, bobcats, birds of prey & other critters for lowering abundant rodent population!

So lucky to see one when my family and I visited Yosemite NP. Was a very special moment. The coyote was running down the middle of the road. Slowed the car down and pulled over and it ran straight past close to the door and eyeballed us as it passed. Will never forget it. Love Yosemite.

That is a well fed coyote. Now is it pronounced kyot (with a long o) or kyotee? I won't go into Yosemite.

She should come to my house, I've got plenty of voles to hunt

I love this park's FB posts! Kudos to whomever is writing them, they really convey the magic of nature!

I have a ton of voles here in Virginia if she would like to take a small vacation

She needs a flood in the valley to help.

We all do that. Sort of. Sometimes the growling comes from a speaker in a box

I am going to share your magnificent photo!

Kelsey also footage of Timon playing with his squeaky toys

Megan. You and Zach will like this.

Kaylee, who does this remind you of?
