Congratulations to long time Jr Sharks alumni, Chris Buchanan, Theo Tydingco and Dylan Vander Esch who played collegiate hockey and graduated this spring.

Buchanan, who is more commonly known as “Moe,” is a ‘94 birth year defenseman who graduated from Bentley University with cum laude honors. His grandfather and father, aka “Big Andy” and “Little Andy,” were long time coaches for the Jr Sharks club.

Tydingco, a ‘93 defenseman, was selected team captain his senior year for the Wesleyan University Cardinals. He is returning to the Bay Area this fall and will be an Assistant Coach on the Jr Sharks 15AAA team this upcoming season. His father, Norbert, was also a long time coach in the program.

VanderEsch, a ‘93 birth year forward, graduated from SUNY Potsdam with magna cum laude honors. He was the leading scorer for the Bears the last few seasons and also played some pro hockey in the SPHL. You may have seen “Vandy” around the rink most summers since he has worked as a strength and conditioning coach for our camps and clinics. His mother, Elizabeth, was an active volunteer in the program helping out with various event over the years.

Again, congratulations to these fine young gentlemen and their families for their accomplishments in the classroom and on the ice. All three will do great things in their next chapter of life. Your Jr Sharks family is proud of you! Way to go Moe! Congrats Theo! Vandy is a dandy!
