Thunderstorm and pouring rain up in Lakehead

Why is Travis AFB so much windier than any other location?

Larkin, the narrow opening of the Carquinez Strait/Delta provides the one tidewater gap into the interior portion of California. When pressure differences set up between the coast and interior, the westerly winds will be channeled through this gap and then spread into the greater Valley and surrounding areas. Because of the elongated shape of the Valley and deflection factor of the surrounding mountains, the Sacramento Valley will get southerly breezes while the San Joaquin Valley receives northerly breezes in these situations.

Oh, the memories that keep flooding back------Ash Mountain was my second home for many years--------

I just need to get there to see it

❤️❤️❤️❤️

Looks replaced! Not restored.

So glad you restored it and kept the original look!

I like the older one better. The newer one looks like plastic.

I really like the original one better!

I can definitely see the difference and again it will age with time! ♡

Maria Badillo-Javier We need to go and check it out.

Awww I liked the before picture.

I like the original

Heather Reid Gunther Caitlin Gunther Cole Gunther

It is not bad...but i liked the old one better. Sure it needed to be restored but it looks like plastic now. The wooden structure is missing from the restored one.

Give it a couple years of being exposed to the elements and it'll look good and rustic.

Beautiful!!

It needed it, great job.

On no an Indian on the sign! It must be racist!

Our first sign that we are there,we love it

Katrin wir hatten Glück, dass wir das alte Schild noch “kennenlernen” durften 😅

Hace tres años lo visitamos Es extraordinario ¡¡¡

I like the old can I buy it!

Robyn Ord im glad we saw the original!

Kayla Ray Brown we need to go back sooooon

Beatrice Rodriguez remember when you asked about what happened to the sign

Surprised the Indian head does not get anyone all worked up on here

“If you put these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed. Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance. For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭4:6-10‬

“Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:12-17‬

I spent a year of my life up there working at the Giant Forrest Cafe and hanging out at the Fireside Inn. Met some great people there. And then others who asked the location of the really big trees like the General Grant tree was somehow inadequate? Ha!

Was this picture taken in front of the Cedar Grove hotel?

Chris Greene mapping trails bro could be good experience

Our planet was once all beautiful, and unspoiled, but NO! Some people just want to bring as many kids as they want, so those who have brought more than 2 kids, have caused massive population growth, that leads into more and more destruction and developments that is destroying nature and true face of the earth. It is mathematically proven that bringing more than 2 kids causes an increase in human populations, the world population soon to reach 8 billion and to mention how massively its still growing, more than 200,000 people per day (after death).
So I wonder how long will all these beautiful places survive and last against the careless, ignorant, selfish, senseless, reckless and EVIL human population growth that also leads to animals and plants extinctions.
Those people that don't agree with me are not worthy of these beautiful places.

One of the most beautiful places in the world

I'd like to volunteer but I'm in l.a 😔
