Here's why the apparent increase in autism spectrum disorders may be good for U.S. children
latimes.com
Among 11 sites across the U.S. where records of 8-year-olds are scrutinized in detail, 1 in 59 kids was deemed to have autism spectrum disorder in 2014.
I am not sure the title of this article is appropriate. And if you think people are getting the "services" they need when the rate continues to rise, you are mistaken. There are not nearly enough therapists or money to cover all the therapies and expenses needed.

"Capital punishment is the stepchild of lynching." ...

What Bryan Stevenson hopes to address with a memorial honoring black people who were killed
latimes.com
For Bryan Stevenson, the opening on Thursday of the The National Memorial for Peace and Justice is about addressing a dark past in America: the lynching of blacks. Stevenson, a civil rights attorney, helped raise the funds for the memorial in Montgomery, Ala.
It is a big mistake to link lynching with capital punishment. Lynching is a terrible crime, totally devoid of any justification or humanity. Capital punishment is a controversial process which many people feel is proper and justified. Linking them, links innocent victims in the public mind to murderers. The only comment to this article defends capital punishment , totally ignoring lynching. Stevenson should decide what his priorities are.
Capital punishment has been repeatedly proven to save lives. For every murderer out to death, 5 to 8 lives are saved. This lynching thing is being brought up a lot these days. Like some kind of trump or credit card. Some kinda card.

Got a 2017-18 pig tag you need to convert to pork chops? How about a chance at a sweet guided pig hunt for just $5? Saturday's the deadline to apply for two pig hunts - the final hunts of the 2017-18 Hunt Program. If you are drawn for the hunt, you pay just $25, which is WAY below the going rate for a guided pig hunt. Go for it!

You may have heard of the passing of former Oakland A's owner Ken Hofmann on Sunday. What you may not know is how tremendously important Mr. Hofmann was to the world of waterfowling - that man did an enormous amount of good in his years on this earth. And while we are saddened by the loss, we need only look all around us - both at CWA headquarters and in the waterfowling community - to know that his legacy will be felt for a long, long time.
